Club Room Groove with Tyreek McDole
Open your senses and experience a new sound.

Tyreek McDole is a Haitian‑American jazz vocalist in his mid‑20s whose warm baritone and vibrant presence have quickly made him a standout voice on New York’s jazz circuit. Raised in Florida and steeped in Caribbean and gospel traditions, he first captivated audiences by winning the Outstanding Vocalist Award at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s 2018 Essentially Ellington Competition. After earning a degree in jazz performance from the Oberlin Conservatory—where he studied under mentors such as Gary Bartz, LaTanya Hall, Billy Hart, Sullivan Fortner, and others—he moved to NYC and became deeply integrated into its musical community.
Since 2023, McDole has climbed higher still, becoming only the second male vocalist to win the prestigious Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition. He released his debut album, Open Up Your Senses, in June 2025 on Artwork Records—an evocative collection that, according to critics, reveals his philosophical and spiritual depth, while drawing from influences like Gregory Porter, Andy Bey, and Johnny Hartman. McDole has also appeared onstage with luminaries such as Theo Croker, NEA Jazz Master Gary Bartz, Kenny Barron, Rodney Whitaker, Ted Nash, Nicholas Payton, and many more, performing at premier NYC venues including Dizzy’s Club, Blue Note, and Joe’s Pub.
