Ease into our new Sunday evening at Club Room this October featuring three sets of Brazilian jazz. Think live bossa nova drifting through the room alongside candlelight, classic cocktails, and dinner worth lingering over. Warm Brazilian rhythms, jazz-inflected melodies, and an intimate atmosphere turn the close of the weekend into something to savor with sets at 6:30PM, 8PM & 9:30PM.
Settle in for another round, stay for dessert, and let the city slow down—if only for the night. We’ll be featuring some of New York City’s hottest jazz artists for the launch of Brazilian Sundays this October.
October 4: Anita Dondorff. Vocalist and composer Anita Donndorff is one of the most influential jazz artists in her native Buenos Aires. Earlier this year she moved to New York, where she performs regularly with some of the most renowned musicians from the local scene, while working on her second studio album.
October 11: Gabriela Anders. One of the most accomplished and appealing contemporary vocalists creating music today, her debut album on Warner Jazz, “Wanting,” enjoyed much success and critical praise. Her new band, Los Dukes, pays loving tribute to the elegant GENIUS of Duke Ellington and includes some of the best Latin Jazz players on the New York scene.
October 18: Jamile. With a deep and versatile voice, vocalist, composer, and educator Jamile is carving out a unique space for herself in today’s music landscape. She captivates audiences with her unique phrasing and heartfelt tone, and impresses listeners with her virtuosity, impeccable vocal control, and extraordinary percussive approach. With a rich musical background, Jamile’s plurality is undeniable.
October 25: Alexia Bomtempo. Her sound is individual and confidently feminine, navigating genres ranging from classic American song to exploratory Tropicália. She brings her trademark sultry Brazilian sounds to fans with a stunning new album called DOCE CARNAVAL released on Ropeadope Records.
